Many Biosciences courses can only be taught with the help of student assistants (also known as TAs). This means job opportunities for several dozens of biology students every year! So if you are looking for a decently paid job and would love to pass on your recently acquired knowledge to your fellow students, why not give it a go? A student assistant job is not only a great way to earn some extra cash, but also a valuable addition to your CV.
Every quarter Biosciences lecturers are looking for student assistants to help them out during their courses. Sometimes only for the tutorials, sometimes also for practicals. Depending on the course, the number of hours a student assistant will have to work, can range from 10 to 200 hours per quarter. Many lecturers look for suitable candidates themselves. However, if they need a little help finding good candidates, we will place a job ad on the BeeVee site.

Alternatively, if you do not want to wait for a course coordinator to contact you or a job ad to appear, you can proactively make inquiries about a possible vacancy yourself. Below you find a list of all courses that usually require student assistants. If you are interested in helping out during any of these courses or would like more information, do not hesitate to contact the course coordinator.
Note that if you are a non-EU student, you will need a work permit. It takes about 5 to 6 weeks to file all the paperwork, so keep that in mind when applying for a job as a student assistant.
Additionally, note that you need to be in the Netherlands to work as a student assistant.
